Cable Maintenance

Maintenance typically occurs between the hours of 7am and 6pm during that time you may see intermittent loss of service to total loss of service. Maintenance is ongoing in the following cities.

Currently the following states are experiencing issues accessing the internet i.e. asking for username and password Alaska Ohio Texas GCI is aware and working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

Dialup

There are no known outages at this time.

If you are having problems with your email and need to reset your password to your e-mail account, you can do so by going to the gci.net website and log into you’re My GCI account. If you receive an email requesting you to confirm your email address, do not reply with the requested information, this is a phishing scam email. Remember, GCI will never request that you enter sensitive or personal information in an email.

If you are receiving an email with the following, this is not from GCI either:

Attention! Several attempts to log into your GCI email account have been logged to foreign IP numbers.
Please reply with your Username and Password for verification or your email account will be suspended within 72 hours.

If you are receiving an email from GCI requesting you to download any files or patches, please delete this email immediately, this is not a legitimate email from GCI.

If you are receiving any of the emails above, there is no need to contact GCI Technical support, as our administrators are aware of the issue.

GCI Web Mail access has been blocked from some countries due to spam issues. Some countries included are below:

Anchorage Distribution Router 2 Maintenance - This maintenance begins 2008/10/22 01:00:00 GMT-8 and ends 2008/10/22 04:30:00 GMT-8. On Oct 22, 2008, between 01:00-04:30, GCI Technicians will be performing maintenance on Anchorage distribution router InetSadcDist-2. DIAS and AIP customers on this device will experience outages as we upgrade the distribution router. We apologize for any inconveniences this maintenance might cause, and for any issues beyond our control.

Ketchikan Maintenance - This maintenance begins 2008/10/16 02:00:00 GMT-8 and ends 2008/10/16 04:00:00 GMT-8. On Thursday, Oct 16th, between 2am and 4am, GCI Technicians will be performing maintenance on equipment in Ketchikan. Customers will experience a total outage during this work. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.

Seward Cable Modem Maintenance - This maintenance begins 2008/10/16 01:30:00 GMT-8 and ends 2008/10/16 04:30:00 GMT-8. On October 16, 2008 between the hours of 01:30 and 04:30, GCI personnel will conduct maintenance on Seward cable modems. Cable modem subscribers in Seward will experience a brief loss of service during this maintenance.

Seward and Valdez Maintenance - This maintenance begins 2008/10/15 01:00:00 GMT-8 and ends 2008/10/15 04:30:00 GMT-8. On Oct-15-08 between 01:00-04:30, GCI Technicians will be performing maintenance affecting all services in Seward and Valdez. All AIP, DIAS, Cable Modem, and Dial-up services will be unavailable during this time. We apologize for any inconveniences this upgrade might cause and for any issues beyond our control.

Sitka Cable Modem Maintenance - This maintenance begins 2008/10/14 01:30:00 GMT-8 and ends 2008/10/14 04:30:00 GMT-8. On October 14, 2008 between the hours of 01:30 and 04:30, GCI personnel will conduct maintenance on the cable modem platform in Sitka.Cable modem Subscribers in Sitka will experience a brief loss of service during this maintenance. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
